SSH terminal
For nodes using the SSH connection protocol, CTFreak can open an interactive shell directly in your browser.
To access it, simply click on the Terminal button associated with a node, either among those listed on a node source page, or directly from a node page.
Only administrators can open a terminal.
Note: The terminal is designed for short interactive sessions. To run a long process, use a command or bash script task instead: it keeps running regardless of your browser, with no risk of disconnection.
Features
- Full terminal emulation: colors, mouse support, and a terminal size that follows the browser window
- Connection with the credential of the node
- A fullscreen toggle button in the lower right corner, as in code editors
SSH connections
Each open terminal uses one of the maximum number of concurrent SSH connections shared with executions, and gives it back as soon as the terminal is closed.
When all these connections are in use, the terminal fails immediately instead of waiting for one to become available.
Session closing
A terminal is automatically closed:
- after a period without input set by the SSH terminal idle timeout global setting (30 minutes by default)
- within a minute once the browser stops responding
- within 30 seconds once its user is disabled or is no longer an administrator
- after 1 minute with the FREE Edition
A Reconnect button then lets you open a new session.
